Diagnosis

The only species currently recognised in this genus. Please refer to the genus diagnosis and introduction for more information.

Habitat description

Mostly standing and probably temporary waters, but also rivers and possibly streams, in open areas in forest or sometimes shaded by (possibly gallery) forest. Usually with coarse detritus and probably overhanging branches, submerged roots and/or a sandy and/or soft (like muddy) bottom. From 0 to 1300 m above sea level, but mostly below 800.
