Crenigomphus hartmanni (Förster, 1898)
Clubbed Talontail

Type locality: Transvaal, South Africa

Diagnosis

Species closest to C. denticulatus by (a) S8-9 with foliations which are often bordered with black; (b) dorsum S10 flat; (c) branches of epiproct taper to very slender apices, appearing like nib of fountain pen. However, differs by (1) being more widespread, ranging from South Africa to NE DRC and Kenya; (2) larger size, Hw 27-31 mm; (3) S10 only slightly longer than S9; (4) cerci gradually curved in lateral and dorsal views, with wide space between them, rather than cerci being straight; (5) epiproct weakly rather than strongly upcurved, never projecting beyond cerci in lateral view.
